The name says it all; I got ideas. IGI Designs makes custom and handmade wood products that are created with quality in mind. All wood used is hand picked from local lumber yards; walnut, cherry, mahogany, maple, and a host of exotic woods. Every project is designed, cut out, constructed, and finished by IGI Designs. We currently operate out of Fort Houston in Nashville, TN. Our catalogue includes, but not limited to, entertainment centers, built-in bookcases, beds, desk, as well as, cutting boards, keepsake boxes, key holders, and wood pallet projects.
IGI Designs is owned and operated by Michael Gatson. Originally from Little Rock, AR, Michael developed his love for design while attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he studied Architecture. While in college he found solace in the college's wood shop. It was there where he learned how to properly use the tooling that would eventually serve as the tooling that aid in his projects today.
After graduating in 2007, Michael landed a job as a draftsman creating conceptual and working drawings for Julian & Sons Fine Woodworking in Heber Springs, AR. Seeing the woodworkers take his working drawings and create beautiful cabinetry sparked a desire for him to try his hand at taking a project, himself, from concept to complete construction. A few projects later, his passion for woodworking was birthed, and IGI Designs was created.
